The series will take place on February 6th, 13th, and 20th at 5:30 PM and end with a Family Night on Friday February 28th at 5:30 PM, hosted at Albany Housing Authority, 200 South Pearl Street, Albany, NY.

Featured Films:

  1. Searching for Timbuctoo – A documentary by Paul Miller exploring the untold story of Timbuctoo and its historical significance.

  2. Do the Right Thing – Spike Lee’s iconic film that addresses racial tensions in Brooklyn, NY, and its timeless relevance.

  3. Django Unchained – Quentin Tarantino’s dramatic tale of freedom and justice set in the antebellum South.

  4. Disney’s Rubee Briggs – Directed by Euzhan Palcy, Ruby Bridges is a powerful Disney film based on the true story of Ruby Bridges, a six-year-old girl who, in 1960, became the first Black student to integrate an all-white elementary school in New Orleans, Louisiana.  

This program is FREE and open to the public, welcoming youth ages 14 and older and adults of all ages. The Family Night is open to youth of all ages and their families. Attendees will enjoy complimentary refreshments while participating in an enriching cinematic experience.
