Join Greene County Historian Jonathan Palmer for an afternoon lecture examining the wide variety of primary sources that testify to the practice and legacy of slavery in Greene County.
Covering the colonial era through the antebellum period, attendees will have the opportunity to view, discuss, and contextualize a wide array of materials that not only serve to illustrate the practice of enslavement but also shed light on changes in local communities following the abolition of slavery in New York State.
Special attention will be given to showing a selection of records related directly to the historic Brandow property currently owned and maintained by Greene Land Trust.
Jonathan’s lecture is limited to 25 seats. Register now to save your spot!
